Tobermory 12 Year Old is an unpeated Island single malt from Tobermory Distillery on the Isle of Mull, bottled at 46.3% ABV. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
The whisky is matured in American oak ex-bourbon barrels, with a small portion finished in virgin oak casks. This 12 year old expression launched in 2019 to mark the return to full production after refurbishment.
The nose opens with orange, lemon peel, honeysuckle, pear and apricot over honey, vanilla and caramel. The palate is creamy, with citrus, caramel and honeyed malt, then white pepper, ginger and a little brine. The finish is long, with vanilla, oak spice, dried fruit and a soft salty note.
