Tobermory – 1995 21 Years Cadenhead's Small Batch (70cl, 52.3%)

This is a 21 year old Tobermory single malt from the Isle of Mull, bottled by Cadenhead's as a small batch at 52.3% in a 70cl bottle. It was distilled in 1995 and bottled in 2016, after maturing in bourbon hogsheads. The outturn was 450 bottles. The nose is salty, with leather, a light smokiness and fruit notes of passion fruit and grapefruit. The palate is layered and oily, with maritime touches balanced by fruit and a little smoke. The finish is fairly long, with ash, cooked fruit and white pepper.
