Tobermory 25 Year Old Oloroso Finish - Hebridean Series (48.1%)

This is a 25 year old single malt from Tobermory, a limited edition in the Hebridean Series that pays tribute to the crofting heritage of the Isle of Mull. It takes its inspiration from the island's weathered crofters' cottages. It descends from the Tobermory 15 Year Old, now archived. The whisky was first matured in ex-bourbon casks, then spent a further 10 years in González Byass Oloroso sherry casks. It was bottled at 48.1% ABV. The nose offers fresh bread, candied orange peel, butterscotch, cocoa and a little cinnamon. On the palate come blackcurrant jam, peaches, lemon peel, honeyed almonds, coconut and mint. The finish carries nutmeg and poached pears.
