Togouchi 12 Year Old Japanese Blended Whisky (40%)

This is a 12-year-old blended whisky from Togouchi, in the mountains near Hiroshima, Japan. The malt and grain whiskies in the blend come from Scotland and Canada, while the ageing, blending and bottling are done in Japan by Chugoku Jozo. Casks rest in two places: a tunnel held at 15 degrees and the cellar at the Hatsukaichi headquarters, which is slightly warmer. Together they give a complex blend, with flavour shaped by oak and fine, delicate notes of peat in the aroma. It is described as having good depth and intensity, with a long finish.
