Togouchi – Seven Lucky Gods Hotei Single Bourbon Cask Limited Edition 6 of 7 (70cl)

This is Hotei, the sixth of seven bottlings in the Seven Lucky Gods series from the Togouchi distillery in Hiroshima. It is a limited edition Japanese whisky drawn from a single bourbon cask. Togouchi is known for maturing its whisky in a disused railway tunnel, where the temperature and humidity stay stable. The nose offers vanilla bean, toasted oak, dried apricot and a delicate floral note. On the palate there is sweet caramel and butterscotch, with a gentle spice from the bourbon cask. The finish is lingering, with soft oak tannins and a trace of orchard fruit.
