Tomatin 14 Year Old is a Highland single malt matured in ex-bourbon barrels and Tawny Port casks, then finished in Tawny Port casks that had held Port wine for about 50 years. It is bottled at 46% ABV.
The whisky is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
The nose opens with red berries, honey, toffee and ripe pear and baked apple, with a gentle nuttiness beneath. The palate is medium-bodied and smooth, with plum, mango, apricot, mixed nuts and honeyed malt, then a little cinnamon or ginger spice. The finish is warm and lingering, with mixed berries, stone fruit, soft toffee and a touch of dark chocolate.
