Tomatin 18 Year Old is a Highland single malt Scotch whisky from Tomatin Distillery, bottled at 46% ABV in a 750ml bottle.
The distillery uses almost entirely unpeated malt, at around 2 ppm, and ferments for up to 168 hours. The spirit matures for 18 years in oak casks, followed by a final period in Oloroso sherry butts.
The nose is ripe apple, pear and dried apricot, with maple syrup, cinnamon and nougat. The palate brings caramelised peach, plum and blood orange, then dark chocolate, toffee and baking spices. The finish is moderately long and slightly drying, with cocoa, soft oak and stone fruit.
