This is a 42-year-old single malt from Tomatin in the Highlands, part of the distillery's Warehouse 6 Collection. It was distilled in 1978 and bottled in 2020 at 47% ABV, in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky spent its first 30 years maturing before being moved into first-fill oloroso sherry casks for a further decade.
The nose is sweet and floral, with toffee, honey, honeysuckle, cherry blossom and almond flowers, plus a little charred oak. On the palate it is rich and creamy, with vanilla, peach, toasted waffles with salted caramel and dark berries, leading to a long, smooth finish.
