This is a 15 year old Highland single malt from Tomatin, in a 70cl bottle at 46%. It is the second of three limited editions in the Portuguese Collection, each showing what a different type of Portuguese wine cask brings to the whisky.
The spirit was distilled on 8 September 2006 and spent its first eight years in Scottish oak casks. It was then moved to ex-Moscatel de Setubal casks on 23 April 2015 and bottled on 9 May 2022. It is non-chill filtered and natural colour.
The nose is sweet, with marmalade, honey and salted caramel and a touch of citrus. On the palate ginger and star anise appear, and the finish is long, with a dessert wine character.
