This is a 14 year old Tomintoul single malt from the Cairngorms, finished in Pedro Ximenez sherry quarter casks. It is bottled at 46% ABV in a limited release of 4,380 bottles.
The final maturation in those casks gives the whisky a deep, rich fruit character alongside its natural sweetness.
The nose is rich with chocolate fudge cake, maple syrup, dried fruit and cedarwood. The palate brings maple pecan pie, chocolate ganache, raisins and roast nuts, with coffee grounds, tobacco and baking spices. The finish is long and warming, with tiramisu, dark chocolate and Brazil nuts.
