Tomintoul 15 Year Old Tawny Port Cask Finish is a limited single malt Scotch whisky from the Cairngorms, from 2008, bottled at 46% ABV in an edition of 6,072 bottles. It is uncoloured and not chill-filtered.
The whisky is matured in American oak ex-bourbon casks, then finished in handpicked Tawny Port barriques from Portugal.
The nose is of cooked fruits and cinnamon pastries, with glace cherries, dark chocolate and clove. The palate offers baked strawberry, stewed rhubarb and vanilla custard, with sweet nougat, candied almonds and cocoa powder. The finish is nutty and warming, with coffee cake, ripe brambles, walnuts and dark chocolate.
