Tomintoul 40 Year Old Second Edition is a single malt distilled on 11th January 1974 and matured for over forty years in American oak ex-bourbon hogsheads. Master Distiller Robert Fleming, a fourth-generation distiller, selected each cask personally. It was bottled at 43.1%, non-chill-filtered and at natural colour, in a release of 165 bottles. The nose brings honeysuckle, preserved fruits, orange zest and butterscotch with cocoa powder, maple syrup and oak spices. The palate offers manuka honey, cinder toffee, coffee grounds and Turkish delight, with candied cloves, sandalwood and rolling tobacco. The finish is long and warming, with chocolate eclairs, cinnamon and cappuccino foam giving way to liquorice, toasted oak and tonka bean.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
