Tomintoul – Seiridh Oloroso Sherry Cask Finish (70cl, 40%)

Tomintoul Seiridh is a Speyside single malt that takes the distillery's gentle house style and adds a richer sherried side. It is bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. The whisky is matured first in American oak ex-bourbon barrels, then finished in selected Oloroso sherry butts from Jerez, Andalusia, which bring warming sweetness and dried-fruit character. The nose is rich, with sultana, butterscotch and candied pecans. The palate is sweet and luscious, with dried figs, Christmas cake and touches of cedar spice. The finish is warm, nutty and long, with chocolate-covered raisins, dried fruit and a hint of liquorice.
