Torabhaig – Allt Gleann The Legacy Series Batch Strength (75cl, 61.1%)

This is a heavily peated Isle of Skye single malt from Torabhaig, bottled at its natural batch strength of 61.1% in a 75cl bottle. It is the closing Batch Strength edition of the Allt Gleann chapter in the distillery's Legacy Series. The whisky was matured in roughly 80% first-fill bourbon barrels and 20% refill whisky casks. The barley is peated to over 78 PPM, with about 22.8 PPM remaining in the glass. It is non-chill filtered and of natural colour. The nose combines oaky vanilla and beach-bonfire smoke with cigar box, lemon peel and sea spray. On the palate come oily citrus, hints of tropical fruit and vanilla biscuits over a salty, medicinal peat core. The finish is long, with orchard fruit, savoury smoke and sea salt.
