Torabhaig – Legacy 4 Sound of Sleat (70cl, 46%)

Sound of Sleat is the fourth release in the Torabhaig Legacy Series. It takes its name from the Sleat area, where the distillery stands, and from the stretch of sea in front of it that separates the Isle of Skye from the mainland. It is the distillery's first collaboration with a local artist, Ellis O'Connor, whose view of the Sound is shown on the packaging. The malt is made from concerto and laureate barley, with 78+ppm phenol in the grain and 14.5ppm in the glass. It was fermented with pinnacle mg+ yeast, matured entirely in American oak and bottled at 46%, non-chill-filtered and with natural colour. The nose is sweet and carries pipe tobacco, apricot and a little salt and orange. The palate is waxy, with sweet bonfire smoke, spice and brine, and the finish is long.
