Torabhaig Cnoc na Moine is the third chapter in the distillery's Legacy Series, a peated single malt from the Isle of Skye bottled at 46%. The name means 'hill of peat' and refers to a place in Knoydart, across the Sound of Sleat from the distillery.
It was matured in bourbon casks with Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez casks added, which gives a darker colour and a sweeter, richer taste. The barley was malted to 78+ PPM phenols, and the whisky is non-chill-filtered and natural in colour.
The nose has subtle peat smoke with orange peel, tart fruit and a hint of dying embers. On the palate the peat returns with a barbecue note, pepper and light balsamic acidity, and the finish is long and smoky.
