Taigh is a peated single malt from Torabhaig Distillery on the Isle of Skye, which has been operating since 2017. It is matured mainly in American oak, often ex-bourbon casks, and bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
The peat is coastal and gentle, with citrus, sweetness and a little salinity alongside the smoke.
The nose has soft coastal smoke, vanilla, orchard fruit and light spice. The palate is smooth and slightly oily, with vanilla custard, roasted nuts, dried fruit and gentle peat smoke. The finish is medium to long, with lingering smoke, spice and a subtle maritime saltiness.
