Torabhaig Niall's First Edition is a single malt from The Distillers Series, bottled at 59.3% in a 70cl bottle. Distiller Niall drew on his family history: his father was a fisherman, and the sea around the Isle of Skye shaped the idea behind the whisky.
The malt mix is 90% peated malt, with dark crystal malt and brown malt at 5% each. It matured in first-fill bourbon casks and refill rum casks.
The nose brings guava, stewed pineapple and pear drops. Orange, malted biscuits and vanilla lead the palate, with sea salt and a little brine. The finish is long and warming, with ashy peat, vanilla and tropical fruit.
