This is a 31 year old Tormore, distilled in 1992 and bottled at 40.1% in a 70cl bottle. Tormore is a Speyside distillery known for a light, fruity yet complex spirit, and independent bottlings of it are uncommon.
The whisky was aged for over three decades in a hogshead. It has juicy tropical fruit and white chocolate notes in a waxy texture.
The nose is gentle and detailed, with apple blossom, papaya, desiccated coconut, cut grass, melon, lemon cheesecake and milk chocolate. The palate is creamy and soft, with green grapes, iced buns, cinnamon, nutmeg, guava and barley water, grounded by black pepper. The finish is medium, with gentle sweet spices.
