Torrione - Petrolo

Torrione is a red wine from Petrolo, made mainly from Sangiovese with a small contribution from other local varieties. It is vinified traditionally, with prolonged skin maceration and fermentation in stainless steel tanks, then matured in oak barriques. The wine shows an intense ruby red colour with garnet reflections with age. On the nose it offers ripe red fruit such as cherries and plums, with spicy and tobacco notes and a light vanilla touch from the wood. On the palate it is robust and well structured, with good acidity, integrated tannins and a long finish with returns of fruit and spice. It suits roast meats, game and aged cheeses.
