Traveller Blend No. 40 is a blended American whiskey made by musician Chris Stapleton with Buffalo Trace Master Distiller Harlen Wheatley. It comes in a 75cl bottle at 45% ABV.
The two tried more than 50 blends before settling on number 40, a mixed-grain whiskey aged in new charred oak barrels and specialty casks. It was released in January 2024 and is the first Official Whiskey of Major League Baseball.
The nose is oak, sweet maple, tart currant and leather, with vanilla, aged fruit, buttery shortbread and caramel. On the palate a touch of sweetness gives way to spice, toasted nut and oak, and the finish is robust.
