This is a 27-year-old Bowmore single malt from Islay, bottled by Tri Carragh at a cask strength of 53.1% in a 70cl bottle. It was distilled in 1997 and bottled in 2024, with 144 bottles filled from a single sherry butt.
The whisky has natural colour and has not been chill-filtered.
The nose begins floral and sweet, with lavender and Parma Violets, then moves to sticky barbecue sauce on ribs smoked over charcoal, ending with sweet tobacco. The palate is chewy and meaty, with smoked barbecue, red peppercorns and cherries. Water brings the smoke forward and adds sweetness, along with floral notes and hickory barbecue sauce.
