Tri Carragh Craigellachie 16 Year Old (70cl, 54.4%)

A 16 year old Craigellachie single malt from Tri Carragh, distilled in 2009 and bottled in 2025 from a single bourbon barrel. It yielded 125 bottles at a cask strength of 54.4%, natural colour and non-chill-filtered, in a 70cl bottle. The distillery uses traditional worm tub condensers. The nose is orchard fruit, apples and pears, with a syrupy sweetness like tinned fruit. On the palate, a baked apple turnover with a caramelised sugar crust continues the sweetness. With water, cereal notes and Victoria sponge appear, and peaches join the juicy fruit.
