This is a 13 year old single cask Linkwood from Speyside, bottled by Tri Carragh. The whisky was distilled in 2011 and matured in a first fill Pedro Ximénez sherry hogshead until its bottling in 2025.
It is bottled at cask strength, 52.1% ABV, with natural colour and no chill filtration, and 206 bottles were filled.
The nose opens with red berries and dark fruits, then vanilla and a creamy note like a scone with clotted cream and jam. The palate has dark redcurrants, figs, dates, nuts and a subtle tannic grip. With water the vanilla comes forward, a delicate rosewater note appears and the palate turns juicier and more tropical. The finish is soft caramel syrup.
