Triple Crown North American Whiskey is a blended whiskey made by McCormick Distilling Company in Weston, Missouri, from corn, malted barley and rye. It is bottled at 80 proof in a 1.75 litre bottle. The blend combines 20% aged whiskey with neutral grain spirit, and it won a Platinum medal at the 2019 SIP Awards.
The nose starts with some spirit, then shows light vanilla and butterscotch with a faint grain sweetness. The palate is sweet and forward, with caramel and toffee, then butterscotch and golden honey, and a low rye spice towards the end. The finish is moderate, with caramel, a touch of charred oak and a faint vanilla note.
