True Story Straight Rye is a straight rye whiskey that combines two high-rye mash bills: one from Indiana (95% rye, 5% malted barley) and one from Northern Kentucky (91% rye, 9% malted barley). Both were aged for between 5 and 8 years.
The whiskey then spends up to 12 months in finishing casks of Brazilian Amburana wood and Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry.
The nose offers dried fruit, vanilla and exotic spices. On the palate, rye spice meets sweet sherry and rich wood. The finish is long and warming, with hints of caramel and spice.
