Tullamore D.E.W. 12 Year Old Special Reserve is a blended Irish whiskey that combines grain, malt and single pot still whiskey, with a high proportion of pot still and malt. All of it is triple distilled and aged for a minimum of twelve years.
Maturation takes place in old ex-bourbon oak casks and ex-Oloroso sherry casks. It is bottled at 40% ABV in a 750ml bottle.
The nose is spicy and citrus-led, with dried fruit, sweet nuts, honey and a faint red wine note. The palate is rich and creamy, with sherry, cinnamon, vanilla and malty sweetness, and the finish is long and warming, ending on citrus peel, sherry sweetness and marzipan.
