Tullibardine 12 Year Old is a Highland single malt bottled at 40% ABV. It spent all twelve years in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels, and was distilled, matured and bottled at the Tullibardine distillery in Blackford, Perthshire. The distillery was founded in 1949 on a brewery site dating back to 1488, and draws its water from the Danny Burn.
This is the standard 12 Year Old, matured wholly in bourbon wood, not the sherry-finished Double Wood.
The nose is delicate and floral, with creamy vanilla and muscovado sugar. On the palate come soft citrus, toffee apples, freshly baked biscuit, chewy toffee, malted biscuits and baked meringue pie, with a hint of black liquorice.
