Twisted Tea Sweet Tea Whiskey is an American whiskey blended with real brewed black tea, bottled at 32.5% ABV (65 proof) in a 75cl bottle. It came from a collaboration between Boston Beer Company and Beam Suntory, and was produced at Beam Suntory's Kentucky operations using brewed tea rather than artificial flavouring.
Tasting notes describe freshly steeped black tea, caramelised sugar, lemon zest and vanilla oak on the nose. The palate is sweet iced tea with honey and subtle citrus, tempered by the tannic quality of the tea. The finish is clean and crisp, ending in a sweet, lemony aftertaste.
