Two James French Connection is a rye whiskey made from 100% Michigan-grown rye and handcrafted in Corktown, Detroit. It is finished for six months in French brandy casks and bottled at 60% ABV in a 75cl bottle.
The rye brings the spice, while the brandy casks add fruit such as cherries and strawberries, along with sweet cream. Two James was the first licensed distillery in Detroit since Prohibition.
The nose has cherries, strawberries, caramel and spearmint. The palate is bold and layered, with orange and lemon peel, muscat, sweet cream and oak tannin. The long finish brings white pepper, white grape, ripe pear and soft sweet tobacco.
