Two James Spirits Grass Widow Bourbon (75cl, 45.5%)

Grass Widow is a high-rye bourbon from Two James Spirits, bottled at 45.5% in a 75cl bottle. The whiskey is sourced, then finished and bottled by Two James in Detroit, Michigan. Its mash bill is 60% corn, 36% rye and 4% barley. It is aged in new oak and then finished for six months in Madeira casks. The name revives a pre-Prohibition Detroit whiskey brand, and the bottling was developed with distiller Dave Pickerell. On the nose it is described as red apple, dried orange and praline. The palate brings apple, walnut, salted brown butter, caramel and peppermint, and the finish is leather, pipe tobacco and orange peel.
