Two Stacks The First Cut (70cl, 43%)

An Irish blended whiskey from Two Stacks, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It is the first release from a producer that fills whiskey into its own casks, lets it mature and then composes individual blends. Each bottle was filled and labelled by hand. The blend combines five whiskeys: grain from virgin oak (40%), grain from ex-bourbon casks (40%), pot still from ex-Oloroso sherry casks (8%), double-distilled malt from ex-bourbon casks (10%) and peated malt from ex-bourbon casks (2%). Peach, vanilla, toasted wood and shortbread mark the nose. Toasted wood, lemon zest, toffee and white pepper follow on the palate, and the finish is long, with smoky caramel and spice.
