Tyrconnell is an Irish single malt whiskey, made by distilling malted barley alone, in a 70cl bottle at 40% abv.
The name comes from a racehorse owned by the Watt distilling family. In 1876 the horse won the Queen Victoria Cup as a big outsider.
The make has stayed the same: then as now, only malted barley goes into the still.
