UAIS The Triple Blend is an Irish blended whiskey from Ahascragh Distillery, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle.
It combines 25% single pot still, 25% single malt and 50% single grain whiskey. The pot still and malt components are triple distilled in copper pot stills, while the grain whiskey comes from a column still. Maturation is in ex-bourbon casks and virgin oak.
Honey, orchard fruits and vanilla lead the nose, with toasted oak and warm spices. The palate offers malted biscuits, caramel, green apple and gentle pepper. The finish is medium to long, with butterscotch and oak spice, ending slightly dry.
