Un Peureux Absinthe (50cl, 48%)

An absinthe at 48% vol. from the Grandes Distilleries Peureux, a house founded in 1864 at Fougerolles in the Vosges. It is made from a blend of selected aromatic plants, including grande absinthe and anise, balanced between fresh herbal character and softness. The nose is herbal and aromatic, with aniseed, fresh plants and gentle spice. The palate opens round and balanced, with a marked vegetal character, aniseed and liquorice, and a light bitterness. It is traditionally served with cold water poured slowly over a sugar-free absinthe spoon to release the aromas gradually, and it can also add herbal, aniseed notes to cocktails. It comes in a 50cl bottle.
