Valtellina Superiore DOCG - Le Tense - Nino Negri

A red wine from Valtellina, made from Nebbiolo, locally called Chiavennasca, by Nino Negri. The name refers to the traditional terraced vineyards on steep slopes. It is intense garnet red, with aromas of ripe red fruit, rose and violet, spice, leather and tobacco, shaped by ageing in wooden barrels. The palate shows fine, well-integrated tannins, lively acidity, cherry, plum and light minerality, with a long, pleasantly spicy finish. It suits red meats, roasts, game and aged cheeses, and opens up in the glass as a meditation wine.
