This is an 18 year old Jamaican pure single rum from Long Pond, bottled by Velier for its National Rums of Jamaica range. It is a blend from ten ex-bourbon casks, distilled in 2005 in a double retort pot still and aged in the tropical climate of Jamaica until 2023, with an angels' share above 75%.
The STC♥E mark comes from the former Cambridge Estate, which closed in 1947, and the rum follows the Continental Flavoured style. Only 2717 bottles were made.
The nose shows apricot, vanilla, mineral and empyreumatic notes, mango, ginger and cardamom. The palate is lively and full, with apricot, mango, vanilla and woody tones. The finish is long and rich, with cane sugar, molasses, geranium honey, salted butter caramel and toffee.
