Velvet Cap Irish Whiskey

Velvet Cap is a small batch Irish blend of malt and grain whiskies, sourced from distilleries across Ireland. After blending, it is rested in bourbon, port and stouted rye casks so the flavours can marry. The name comes from the velvet caps traditionally worn in point-to-point horse racing, a sport that dates from 1752, when riders raced from one church steeple to another in County Cork. It has a warm colour of royal flax and a full mouthfeel. The nose is candied banana, honey, dark stonefruit and almond, and the palate has a malt base with vanilla, plum and agave. The finish is bright with fruity, tropical esters.
