Vigna del Cuculo Barbera d'Alba Superiore DOC from Cavallotto shows an intense ruby colour with vibrant aromatic freshness. The nose brings ripe red fruits, black cherry and cherry, with light spicy notes and a floral trace.
The palate is full yet flowing, supported by bright acidity and compact, well-integrated tannins. It is juicy and direct, with clear fruity returns and a structure suited to meat ragù, less elaborate braises, savoury cured meats and semi-hard cheeses. It also works with traditional dishes and mushroom-based preparations.
Serve around 16-18 C; a brief decant can help it open.
