Virginia Distillery Co. – Blue Ridge Toasted Barrel

Blue Ridge Toasted Barrel is an American single malt from Virginia Distillery Co., made from 100% American-grown malted barley and distilled in the foothills of Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains. It is a limited release. The whisky spends several years in first-fill Kentucky bourbon barrels, then is finished in virgin oak barrels that were toasted and coopered in the Blue Ridge region. Strength varies by batch, at cask or near-cask strength, and it is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. The nose is honeysuckle, vanilla bean and toasted marshmallow. The palate brings baked apple, cinnamon sugar, golden raisin and a little oak char, and the medium-long finish carries spice, orchard fruit and toasted grain.
