Virginia Distillery Co. – Courage & Conviction Bourbon Cask American Single Malt Whisky (75cl, 46%)

This is an American single malt from Virginia Distillery Co., made from 100% malted barley and aged for six years in first-fill bourbon casks. It is bottled at 46% (92 proof) in a 75cl bottle. The name honours the distillery's late founder, Dr. George G. Moore, who liked to say that one should have the courage of one's convictions. His aim was to redefine American whisky, and his family carried the idea forward. Virginia's hot summers and cool winters let the whisky mature faster than in Scotland. The nose offers vanilla, butterscotch and a hint of oak. On the palate come orange oil, cinnamon and toasted coconut.
