Volbeat Outlaw Gentlemen 12 Year Old Double Distilled Irish Whiskey

Outlaw Gentlemen is a 12 year old double distilled Irish whiskey made for the band Volbeat. It combines grain and malt whiskey in a 90/10 split, with both parts matured in Oloroso sherry casks. The sherry influence shows in the amber colour, which carries a faint crimson tint in the light. The malt adds a creamy, almost buttery texture to the palate. The nose is dried fruit and oak, with dark raisins, figs, caramel, vanilla and nuts. On the palate there are plums, dates and candied orange peel with mild spices and a gentle warmth. The finish is long and sweet, with a hint of dark chocolate.
