Von Payne Black is a blended whiskey infused with natural black currant, made by Von Payne Spirits of Clearwater, Florida. It is bottled at 45% ABV in a 75cl bottle and built on a 3-year-old blended American whiskey. The black currant gives it a deep ruby colour.
It is served in a heavy glass decanter with a functional metal gargoyle pour spout. It won a gold medal at the 2025 Denver International Spirits Competition.
The nose is robust black currant and brown sugar with oak and cinnamon. The palate shows vibrant, earthy berry, slightly tart and slightly sweet, balanced by oaky warmth. The body is light to medium, and the finish is long and warm.
