W.L. Weller 12 Year Old is a wheated bourbon from the Buffalo Trace stable, in a 750ml bottle. Twelve years in the cask is considerably longer than most wheated bourbons are given, and the whiskey has a deep bronze colour.
The nose brings lanolin, almond, creamed corn and toasty vanilla. The palate is layered and moderately sweet, with the wheat clearly present, and the finish is long, oaky and very smooth.
