W.L. Weller 18 Year Old is a wheated Kentucky straight bourbon from Buffalo Trace Distillery, bottled at 45% ABV in a 70cl bottle. This 2025 limited edition honours William Larue Weller, who replaced rye with wheat in the mash bill.
At 18 years old, it is the oldest age-stated expression in the Weller range and the first age-stated wheat whiskey the range has produced.
The nose is vanilla, old oak and honeyed cereal, with tobacco leaf and cocoa, and apricot and date emerging with time. The palate is velvety, with burnt sugar, dark toffee, baking spices and a little leather. The finish is long, with cardamom, nutmeg and waxy vanilla.
