A wheated Kentucky straight bourbon from W. L. Weller, bottled at 57% in a 75cl bottle. Wheat takes the place of the rye usually used in bourbon.
It is bottled at 114 proof, the same strength at which the spirit went into the barrel, and it is not chill filtered, which keeps the natural oils and flavours from distillation and ageing. The brand was founded by the Stitzel-Weller Distilling Company and now belongs to Buffalo Trace Distillery. It is named after William Larue Weller, reputedly the first to make straight bourbon with wheat, in 1849.
