W.L. Weller Special Reserve is a wheated bourbon, with wheat used in place of rye as the secondary grain. It is bottled at 90 proof (45%) and has a burnt orange colour.
The flavour is soft, which suits it to sipping or to cocktails.
The nose is sweet with caramel. On the palate there is honey, butterscotch and a gentle woodiness, smooth and delicate. The finish is smooth, with a sweet honeysuckle note.
