A 12 year old wheated bourbon from Buffalo Trace Distillery, released as the Year of the Horse edition for Lunar New Year 2026, honouring the Chinese Zodiac. It comes in a 750ml bottle, bottled at 45% ABV, and is presented in a black and gold commemorative tube.
The mash bill uses wheat in place of rye, and the whisky has spent a full twelve years maturing.
The nose offers caramel, toasted oak, vanilla custard and dried cherry. On the palate come rich toffee, layered oak, soft wheat, fig, baking spice and a hint of cocoa powder. The finish is long and silky, with warm vanilla, toasted almond and gentle wood tannins.
