Weller Millennium Bourbon (75cl, 49.5%)

Weller Millennium is a multi-vintage wheated blend from Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky, bottled at 49.5% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It combines straight wheated bourbon with wheat whiskey, the first time a wheat whiskey has been used in a Weller release, so it is classed as a blended whiskey rather than a straight bourbon. The whiskey was distilled across four years: 50% from 2003, 40% from 2005, 7% from 2006 and 3% from 2000. Caramel, vanilla bean, sweet wheat grain and honeycomb lead the nose, with toasted oak and dried apricot. The palate is silky, with caramelised sugar, toffee, baked apple, tropical fruit and cherry, then leather, tobacco and dark chocolate. The finish is long and warm, with caramel, sweet oak, cinnamon and a touch of cocoa.
