Wemyss Malts Peat Chimney (70cl, 46%)

Peat Chimney is a blended malt Scotch whisky from Wemyss Malts, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is built around Islay malt, with fifteen other malts added to make sixteen in all, and it is the smokiest expression in the Wemyss Malts core range. It was developed with the whisky writer Charles MacLean. The whisky is bottled non-chill filtered. The nose brings heather smoke, stone fruit and orange zest. On the palate, warm peat sits over espresso and muscovado sugar, with a maritime, citrus-edged character. The finish turns flinty and mineral before ending soft and sweet.
